Charles W. Bingham
Charles Bingham was born and raised in Louisiana, however he spent his last two years of high school in Orange County, California. After high school, Charles enrolled at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where he developed an at-times-unhealthy love of Tex-Mex and met his future wife, Mendy.
Charles attended Texas Christian University from 1998 to 2002. He double-majored in economics and mathematics, graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree. Following his undergraduate studies he earned a masters degree in mathematics from Rice University in 2005. In his professional life, Charles has achieved designation as Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®).
Charles began his career at Ameriprise Financial (American Express Financial Advisors at the time) in 2005. Due to his early success, he became an Advisor Coach. This put him in a role to help new advisors get their careers off the ground by providing meeting and casework assistance. He was promoted to Associate Branch Manager in 2009 to provide practice support to more than 40 advisors, while serving in the company’s recruiting efforts. While his experiences in leadership helped develop new and existing skill sets, Charles decided to refocus his energies on building his personal practice.
In 2010, Charles partnered with Sunbelt Securities, an independent Broker/Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor with a more robust platform for managing his client’s assets. Charles holds Series 7 and Series 66 FINRA securities licenses. In addition, Charles maintains his insurance license to serve client needs in that arena.
Thanks to technology and travel, Charles enjoys serving his clients throughout the United States, however he spends most of his time in the greater Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth areas. In 2017 Charles and his family moved from Katy, Texas to North Texas where they built a home on an old farmstead. Charles and his wife Mendy reside near Valley View, Texas with their three children Ethan, Jacob and Lucy. He has volunteered as coach for numerous youth sports teams, including soccer, baseball and basketball. He currently serves on the Finance Committee of Valley View United Methodist Church where he uses his love of spreadsheets to help advance God’s purpose. In his free time, Charles enjoys watching sports, gardening, reading, and doing battle with mesquite trees.
